5 Ways to Enjoy Running

We get it, for some, running can literally be so exhausting. It hurts your knees, too much pressure on your lower back, its too hot, feet hurt, too busy, and it’s just not fun. We can totally understand how If you agreed to any of the above how running can seem like the worst thing to do. If you love to run, we understand that there are no excuses you accept to stop you from getting your miles in. Running is a part of your life and it honestly soothes emotions.  Below are ways to help make running less painful.

1.  Join Subscriptions to running magazines or websites

Two great websites we recommend is Active and Virtual runners. They both provide motivational information, races coming up in your area, articles on how to increase your run time and so much more. Once you get inspired, you’ll be outside running in no time.

 2.  Join a local Runners club

There are so many apps and Facebook groups out there for anything and anyone. Take some time to join a run club and have some fun. Running doesn’t have to be a solo event. Why not talk about hating running while actually running together?! Isn’t the saying, misery loves company?!

Running Can be fun

 3.  Register for a Race

We can’t lie, some of us hate running just for fun. We need a medal or 100 other people doing it to feel like we aren’t the crazy ones. This is the perfect time. Find a race and start training for it. If you are a beginner, start off with a 5k-10k and build from there.

 4.  Build up your stamina

We understand that running can be very difficult for mileage if you have not developed a breathing technique for it. Different ways to build up your stamina could be walking for a longer time, going to a cycling class, jump roping, and so many other ways to build up to get you running outside.

Stay Motivated

 5.    A run playlist.

Always remember that running can be so relaxing. Put together a playlist of your favorite songs and get lost in the tunes. Spotify, iTunes, are just to name a few apps to download. Don’t make running mandatory and putting unnecessary pressure on yourself. Make it something that you are choosing to do and love the way it makes you feel. If you go in with a positive attitude you will be setting records in no time. Even if it’s just personal goals.
